ORIGINATE, INNOVATE, DON’T DEVIATE
Tony Moore’s career in music began when he left his hometown of Bristol to join the then-unknown Iron Maiden as a keyboard/synth player. He rehearsed and worked with them for around 6 months, but after only one gig with the band, Tony departed to form the group Tanz Der Youth with Brian James from The Damned. This band gained traction quickly, opening for The Stranglers, and Black Sabbath, and was championed by John Peel until they split up after about a year together.
In the early 80s Tony started Radio Java, signing to Carrerre Records and recording an album at Abbey Road. His single FOOL became a number 1 hit in Holland at Xmas 1983. In the mid 80s Tony joined Cutting Crew as keyboard player, touring around the world and opening for acts like Huey Lewis, Starship, and The Bangles. They were also the first Western band to play a live show in Taiwan that allowed dancing and audiences to stand up – something that almost caused a riot!
At the end 2004 Tony Moore was made the sole Inductee into the MMF (Music Managers Forum) Roll Of Honour for outstanding contribution to the British Music Industry. Then in October 2010 Tony was awarded a “GOLD BADGE” by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors for his services to songwriters and his major contribution to the creative industry.
As a writer, singer and performer he has never stopped and on June 30th 2019, Tony captivated a sold out stadium audience with his own composition “We Are The Light” at the closing ceremony of the European Games 2019 in Minsk, Belarus. This momentous show was also broadcasted live to 117 countries across the globe, reaching an estimated 500 million viewers, making it the biggest gig of his life so far. During lockdown, Tony took his live performances digital and from March 24th 2020 onward he played more than 110 consecutive two-hour long online shows before taking a break in July. His streamed shows titled “Right Here! With Tony Moore” have been viewed by countless people from all corners of the planet and have resulted in him building a massive community of supporters.
He is currently performing AWAKE, a highly acclaimed live one man show, based on music he wrote, recorded and produced through the lockdown to sold out audiences around the country. His has plans now for the show to tour Europe and eventually to arrive in Las Vegas.
