Tony Moore’s career in music began when he left his hometown of Bristol to join the then-unknown Iron Maiden as a keyboard/synth player. He rehearsed and worked with them for around six months, but after only one gig with the band, Tony departed to form the group Tanz Der Youth with Brian James, formerly of The Damned. This band gained traction quickly, touring and opening for The Stranglers and Black Sabbath, recording a critically acclaimed single on RADAR Records, and being championed by legendary radio DJ John Peel, until they split up after about a year together.

In the early 80s, Tony started Radio Java, signing to Carrere Records and recording an album of his songs at Abbey Road. His single FOOL became a number one hit in Holland at Christmas 1983. In the mid-80s, Tony was asked to join Cutting Crew as their keyboard player, going on to tour the world and opening for acts such as Huey Lewis, Starship, and The Bangles, in the wake of the global success of their hit single “(I JUST) DIED IN YOUR ARMS TONIGHT.” They were also the first Western band to play a live show in Taiwan that allowed dancing and audiences to stand up — something that almost caused a riot in Taipei!
At the end of 2004, Tony Moore was made the sole inductee into the MMF (Music Managers Forum) Roll of Honour for outstanding contribution to the British music industry. In October 2010, Tony was awarded a Gold Badge by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors for his services to songwriters and his major contribution to the creative industry. As a writer, singer and performer, he has never stopped. On 30 June 2019, Tony captivated a sold-out stadium audience with his own composition “We Are The Light” at the closing ceremony of the 2019 European Games in Minsk, Belarus. This momentous show was also broadcast live to 117 countries across the world, reaching an estimated 500 million viewers, making it the biggest gig of his life so far.
During the lockdown, Tony took his live performances online, and from March 24, 2020, onwards, he played more than 110 consecutive two-hour-long shows before taking a break in July of that year. His streamed shows, titled “RIGHT HERE! With Tony Moore,” have been viewed by countless thousands of people from all corners of the planet and have resulted in him building a massive community of supporters.
In 2022, Julian Lennon recorded and released his album JUDE, which included a song he co-wrote with Tony called “LOVE NEVER DIES.” The track also features Tony playing the haunting piano part that underpins the song. Tony is currently performing AWAKE, the highly acclaimed live one-man show based on the music he wrote, recorded and produced during lockdown. In January 2024, he was the special guest for Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) and his band British Lion on their British tour. This was followed in February 2024 by his own headline tour of AWAKE in theatres and clubs across the country. In June 2024, AWAKE launched in the USA with a debut show at The Cutting Room in New York City. In August 2024, Tony toured with British Lion as their special guest, performing in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, North America and South America, concluding in December 2024. Tony continues to tour AWAKE throughout Europe and the UK, both as a headliner and as a special guest supporting British Lion.
